This module picks up from the Introduction to Herbs and Infusions and furthers students’ knowledge in how herbs are processed – from the field to the cup.
Students are also introduced to a variety of the most commonly used herbs and spices in the tea industry and begin to identify their distinct aroma and flavour.
There is no tea kit included with this course.
Topics Explored Include:
Understanding of processing methods for herbs
Identifying commonly used herbs and spices in the tea industry
Understanding of how flavours are combined
Students are required to source their own products for sampling. A list of common botanicals will be provided, but it is NOT mandatory to source or taste all of these.
HI 102 includes four lessons. You should plan to spend approximately 3 hours per lesson to read through course materials, watch lesson videos, and attend the live office hours session.
