HI 103 – Preparation, Formulation & Blending Botanicals

This course is 100% online and completed in 4 weeks. Spots are limited for each session date listed below.

This course uses the skills learned in HI-101 & HI-102, and teaches the basic principles behind blending.

Prerequisite: HI-101 (Introduction to Herbs & Infusions)

Students will learn how to prepare botanicals for use in tea blends, why certain herbs are chosen to blend with each other as well as with particular teas and how to best balance flavours. This course includes a basic understanding of botanicals for culinary use.

There is no tea kit included with this course, and no list of recommended teas for HI-103, as there are no tastings or discussion/profiles for specific botanicals.

HI-103 includes three lessons. You should plan to spend approximately 3 hours per lesson to read through course materials, watch lesson videos, and attend the live office hours session.
